A visitor writes,
"If God knows everything, including the future, did he know that Adam will disobey even before he created him? If so then why did he still create him? Or why did he not change the course of man so he should not disobey? Also why does God allow bad things and calamities to happen?"
God did not want to create robots who had no choice but to obey him.
He created the earth in order to populate it forever with men and women who would choose to obey him out of love for his revealed character.
He created man in his own image and gave him freedom of choice.
It is this freedom of choice which results in mankind choosing to do evil rather than good.
God knew what the result would be, but he is prepared to endure the evil for the sake of those who will choose to do good and model their characters after what is revealed of the character of God. Those who refuse the evil and choose the good.
Adam chose to disobey the one commandment he was given and brought sin and death upon himself and his posterity. We all choose to sin because we can’t help ourselves.
For those who choose to love him God has provided a way of escape from sin and death by fathering a Son Jesus Christ who, though he bore our nature and was subject to the same temptations as we are, did no sin and further surrendered his perfect life to provide a ransom for them.
There is a time limit of 7000 years set for the purpose of God to be fulfilled.
At the end of this time the earth will be populated forever by those ransomed, raised to eternal life and made equal to the angels. God will live in and with his people forever.
The love of God for mankind is demonstrated in his willingness to allow his only begotten son to die to provide a ransom for the lives of men and women of all ages who will believe and put their trust in him.
We live in an age when the scriptures which record God’s purpose and his dealings with man and contain prophecies concerning the future are freely available.
We can have our part in the purpose of God by believing the Gospel preached by Jesus and his apostles, repenting of our sins and being baptised into Jesus Christ by immersion in water. After baptism we begin a new life, living by the commandments of Christ.
Those who die will be raised from the dead and made equal to the angels when Christ returns.
Following Christ’s return the kingdom of God will be established and he will reign over the mortal population of the earth for 1000 years.
At the end of this time there will be a second resurrection and final judgment.
After this God will live in and with His people forever.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
To recap – Evil is a result of freedom of choice. Freedom of choice is necessary because God wants people who choose to love Him. Yes – God knew the evils which would arise from freedom of choice but is prepared to allow it for the sake of those who choose to love Him.
Psalms 145:20 The LORD preserves all who love Him, But all the wicked He will destroy.
Romans 9:22 What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23 and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, 24 even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
I hope this helps,
God bless,
