A visitor writes,
"Hi. Is the book of Mormon reliable"
The book of Mormon is complete fiction.
Joseph Smith and his successors come under the anathema written by Paul:
Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let that one be accursed! 9 As we have said before, so now I repeat, if anyone proclaims to you a gospel contrary to what you received, let that one be accursed!
Sample fundamental error: Alma 42:9 ‘the soul could never die’
Ezekiel 18:4 4 "Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father As well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die.
We ALL sin and we all die.
The hope of the Gospel is that of resurrection from the dead to a kingdom upon earth at as future time.
Until that time the dead are unconscious.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing,
Psalms 146:4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
For this reason death is described as ‘sleep’.
1 Kings 2:10 So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
Acts 7:60 Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not charge them with this sin." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
The ‘immortality’ of the soul and consciousness after death is the delusion of all apostate Christendom.
I hope this helps.
God bless,
