A visitor writes,

"Hi. Please send me an article about the silence of God when there is so much grief and sadness in the world Thank you Warwick"

There has always been grief and sadness in the world. It comes about because men were created with freedom of choice and choose to do evil and ignore their maker.
In the days of Noah God destroyed all mankind except for Noah and his family because of the evil which was endemic.
Genesis 6: 5  Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7  So the LORD said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them." 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Following the flood, God made a Covenant with Noah and his descendants that he would not destroy mankind with a flood a second time.
Genesis 9:13  I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. 14  And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: 15  And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16  And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
It is a mistake to believe that God is silent and therefore to blame for the grief and sadness in the world.
He inspired men to write the scriptures which comprise the Bible.
In the Bible God explains his purpose in creating the earth and mankind. The Bible explains where the evil in the world originates.
Mark 7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.
God endures the evil for the sake of those in each generation who choose to endeavour to live their lives in obedience to God’s commandments.
Romans 9:22  What if God, wanting to show His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, 23  and that He might make known the riches of His glory on the vessels of mercy, which He had prepared beforehand for glory, 24  even us whom He called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
In the Bible God explains that things will not always continue as they are but that he has appointed a day in the future when he will intervene.
Acts 17:31  "because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead."
The guarantee of the fulfilment of God’s purpose is Jesus Christ who gave his life a ransom for many and was raised from the dead and given immortality.
His ascension to heaven is temporary. At the day appointed by God he will return to intervene in the affairs of men and establish the Kingdom of God on earth.
God is not silent. His purpose is clearly laid out in the scriptures.
The promise of God for the faithful is resurrection to eternal life in the kingdom of God when Jesus returns.
1 Corinthians 15:20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21  For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23  But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. 24  Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25  For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26  The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
There are prophecies in the Bible which deal with the rise and fall of nations so that succeeding generations might recognise the signs of their own times.
The restoration of Israel as a nation in their own land is a major sign for my generation.
The evil in the world will not cease until Jesus Christ returns to rule the world in righteousness.
The Gospel preached by Jesus and his apostles explains how we can have a part in the purpose of God.
God is not silent concerning the salvation of those who choose to believe what He has caused to be written.
2 Timothy 3:16  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17  that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
I hope this helps,
God bless.
