Where did GOD came from? Is God a Trinity? Why is understanding of GOD essential to salvation?

The Trinity is a false doctrine not found in the Bible. It was invented in the 4th century AD as the Church slid into apostasy.
God is the creator and sustainer of all life. He has always existed – he had no beginning and will have no end.

The Bible is comprised of 66 books which are written to give us a comprehensive knowledge of God, his character and his purpose and how we can be part of it.

God’s character

  • Exodus 34:5 Now the LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. 6  And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.
  • God wants us to learn of him and emulate his character.
    • Hosea 6:6  For I desire mercy and not sacrifice, And the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

God’s purpose:

God created the earth to be inhabited forever. He created man with freewill so that we can choose whether we want to be part of God’s purpose or not. The majority of people have no time for God.

  • Isaiah 45:18  For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD, and there is no other.

The earth will be filled with God’s glory in the form of men and women raised to the divine nature and made equal to the angels.

  • Numbers 14:21  But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD.

In the scriptures, God reveals his character and explains what he wants from us:

  • God has foreknowledge – he knows the end from the beginning.
  • He requires us to believe him and to choose to obey him.
  • His purpose will come to fruition at a fixed time in the future.
    • Jeremiah 24:7 Then I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.
    • Jeremiah 31:34  No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.

We begin by reading the Bible. This is best done daily using a reading planner. We must learn about Noah, Abraham, Israel, David, the kings and prophets and Jesus Christ. Then the Gospel and baptism and resurrection and how we can be part of God’s purpose.

I hope this helps.

God bless,
