What are your thoughts about the book of Mormon?
The book of Mormon is a work of fiction.
The Gospel preached by Jesus Christ and his apostles in the New Testament is complete, being fully supported by the prophecies found in the Old Testament.
In his letter to the Galatians, Paul lays it out very clearly, in no uncertain terms:
Galatians 1:8,9 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
The book known as the Bible, consisting of the scriptures of Moses, the prophets, and the apostles, is the only source of knowledge concerning God and his purpose available in the earth. The scriptures were given by inspiration of God and are consequently without error except for very minor errors of transcription or translation.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
The Gospel recorded in the scriptures in the first century AD has not been corrupted and needs no changes or additions. Belief in and obedience to the Gospel was efficacious for salvation for 1800 years before Joseph Smith invented his own version.
If we believe Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, why would we believe Joseph Smith who falls under Paul’s curse?
I hope you find this helpful.
