Why does mankind disobey God? Why did they crucify Jesus?

God has a purpose with the earth and man upon it. He intends to fill the earth with his glory in the form of men and women raised to the divine nature in whom and with whom God will live forever.

He did not want robots. He created mankind with freewill, so that men and women can choose to be part of his purpose or not.

Sin is disobedience to God’s commandments. Adam and Eve had one commandment to keep. They disobeyed God bringing sin and death upon themselves and all their offspring.

God, motivated by love for his creation, promised a redeemer – one who would overcome sin in himself and by choice give his life for us. That redeemer was Jesus Christ. To obtain forgiveness for our sins we must believe and obey the Gospel preached by Jesus and his apostles.
