Why does God value light more than darkness?
Genesis 1:1-5 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.
The order of creation sets the pattern of God’s purpose with his creation. Light represents the revealing of God’s purpose to mankind.
If we do not understand God’s purpose we live our lives in darkness. Psalms 119:130
The advent of Jesus Christ, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God is described as giving light to those in darkness. Luke 1:79
Light was created by the power of God on the first day of creation, but the sun which afterwards gave light upon the earth was created on the fourth day. This prefigured the appearance of Jesus Christ in the fouth millennium. 2 Corinthians 4:6
Jesus is the one promised from the beginning – the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15 – the seed of Abraham promised in Genesis 22:18 – the seed of David promised in 1 Chronicles 17:11 – the son of God promised in 1 Chronicles 22:10.
Jesus and his teachings constitute the light of the world. John 8:12
The light originally sent to the Jews was to shine also upon the gentiles. Isaiah 42:6
Those who will believe and obey the Gospel preached by Jesus and his apostles have ‘the light of life’ and will be raised to eternal life when Christ returns. 1 John 1:7;2 Peter 1:4
God’s purpose will come to fruition on the seventh millennium after the pattern of the seventh day of Creation when God ceased from his labour.
I hope this helps.
God bless,
