Who or what is Ebenezer?

Ebenezer is not a ‘who’ – it is a place. It occurs three times in the King James Version. 1 Samuel 4:1; 1 Samuel 5:1; 1 Samuel 7:12.

Using Strong’s Concordance: Ebenezer <072> העזר אבן ‘Eben ha-‘ezer from <068> אבן ‘eben – stone; and <05828> עזר ‘ezer – help with the article ‘ha’ inserted; n; Transliterated in the King James Version – ‘Ebenezer’ 3 times. Meaning - "stone of help". It was a memorial stone erected by Samuel to mark where God helped Israel to defeat the Philistines-north of Jerusalem.
