How can I get to know about God?
God is the creator and sustainer of all life. He inspired people to write the scriptures which make up the Bible, both Old and New Testaments. In the scriptures he explains his purpose in creation and his offer of resurrection from the dead to eternal life to those who will believe and obey the Gospel preached by his Son Jesus, the Christ, and his apostles.
God’s offer of eternal life is available only through his Son. The scriptures record God’s dealings with men and women from creation so that we might learn from their experiences.
God raised his Son from the dead to eternal life to demonstrate the certainty of his promise. After his resurrection Jesus ascended to heaven and will remain there until the time appointed by God for his return. At his return he will raise and judge the dead and restore the kingdom of Israel as the kingdom of God on earth.
God has given all power and authority in the earth to his Son. Jesus will reign over the mortal population of the earth for 1000 years; at the end of which there will be a second resurrection and final judgment. The faithful will receive eternal life and the unfaithful will die a second time and perish forever.
The kingdom of God will continue on the earth and God will live in and with his people forever. This will be the fulfilment of the purpose of God.
Isaiah 45:18 For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: "I am the LORD, and there is no other.
Numbers 14:21 ...but truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD
Revelation 21:3-7 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful." 6 And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
What God offers to men and women, whom he made in his own image, is the divine nature - that he might be ‘all in all’ for eternity.
