What the difference in set free and made free?
In scripture there is no difference. The same Greek word is translated as ‘set free’ and ‘make free’
John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free <ἐλευθερόω eleutheroo>.
John 8:36 Therefore if the Son makes you free <ἐλευθερόω eleutheroo>, you shall be free indeed.
Romans 6:18 And having been set free<ἐλευθερόω eleutheroo> from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
Romans 6:22 But now having been set free<ἐλευθερόω eleutheroo> from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free <ἐλευθερόω eleutheroo> from the law of sin and death.
Romans 8:21 because the creation itself also will be delivered <ἐλευθερόω eleutheroo> from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free <ἐλευθερόω eleutheroo>, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
I hope you find this helpful.
God bless,
