Proverbs 30:18 There are three things which are too wonderful for me, Yes, four which I do not understand: 19 The way of an eagle in the air, The way of a serpent on a rock, The way of a ship in the midst of the sea, And the way of a man with a virgin.

Courtship is an enjoyable God-given experience, but care must be exercised that it doesn’t lead to sex outside of marriage. The Bible makes clear that sex outside of marriage is against the commandments of God. In the NKJV New Testament, sex outside of marriage is described as ‘sexual immorality’.

1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

1 Thessalonians 4:3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;

The same Greek word is also translated ‘fornication’:

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,

Ephesians 5:3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;

Fornication will exclude from the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators... nor adulterers... will inherit the kingdom of God.

Marriage is ordained by God.

Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
