The Catholic Church would like us to think it is.

In reality it is a long way away from the gospel preached by Jesus and his apostles.

In accordance with Bible prophecy the Church slid into apostasy by the fourth century AD.

It became the state church of the Roman empire and adopted false doctrines from Greek philosophy.

Some of the false doctrines are as follows:

The trinity, immortal souls, heaven-going at death, hell as a place of eternal fiery torment, Satan as a fallen angel, transubstantiation, a priesthood, division into clergy and laity, ‘just’ wars, penance instead of repentance, infant-sprinkling, confessionals, Later purgatory was added. Sale of indulgences, Pope as the head of the Church.

Revelation 17 describes a harlot that rules over kings. The Catholic Church fits the detailed description perfectly. No other organisation in history does. She is described as the ‘Mother of Harlots’, her daughters are those Churches which have arisen after the reformation which have retained her false doctrines – the trinity and immortal souls particularly.

The Catholic Church forbad the translation of the scriptures into languages that people could read. It persecuted those who translated it. The Catholic Church caused those who wouldn’t accept the false doctrines to be tortured and put to death, often by being burned at the stake. The Catholic Church instigated the crusades against Islam, killing Jews and orthodox Christians in the process.

My advice is to read the Bible for yourself and compare the teaching of Jesus with the teaching of the Catholic Church. Read also the history of the Catholic Church with its corrupt Popes.
