Our spirit is the way that we think.

We all have our own spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.

When his disciples wanted to punish the Samaritans Jesus pointed out that they weren’t thinking in the right way.

Luke 9:55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

In Christ we must be renewed in the spirit of our minds.

Ephesians 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

In other words, we must change the way that we think naturally to the way that God wants us to think.

Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

This is a process that takes place by reading, believing and applying the word of God in our lives.

We are to live a new life by the commandments of Jesus Christ.

John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

In this way we are ‘born again’.

1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

The way we think must be brought into agreement with the Spirit-inspired word of God.
