Around AD 50 The Apostle Paul and his companions preached the gospel for the first time on European soil, in the Macedonian towns Philippi, Thessalonica, and Beroea. The first European to convert to Christianity, that we know of, is a Macedonian woman named Lydia.
Acts 16:9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a Macedonian man, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us".
