John 17:22... that they may be one, even as we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Believers are to have the same unity of purpose as Christ and his Father.

We are to have one way of thinking – that of doing the will of God and not our own will.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Colossians 4:12... always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

Marriage is the union of two in a common purpose.
Philippians 3:16... let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
All members of the body of Christ are to have a common purpose.
Psalms 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
