The Holy Spirit is God's power at work in all its manifestations to perform specific works. Spirit is His power generally by which He maintains His creation. Holy means "separate" or "set apart" so  the Holy Spirit is God's power focused on a particular task or exercised for a particular reason often through the prism of chosen men and women or angels. This principle is especially evident in the revelation of His word and in His providential care for His people.
