Yes, the Bible was written by man and inspired by God:
2 Peter 1 :21 ...for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
The New Testament displays the Old Testament in all its glory. To try to separate the two is not wise. Indeed the New Testament is the substance of which the Old Testament was but the shadow. The precepts and prescriptions of the Old Testament are really pointers to the principles of freedom contained in the New. Studying the Old Testament gives us keen insight into the principles of the New and the meaning of the teaching of Christ and the apostles.
