There are two names traditionally associated with the first five books of the Bible. The Jewish community calls them "The Torah" while non-Jews tend to use the term "Pentateuch". The term Torah means, in Hebrew, "teaching" or "law". Pentateuch from the Greek of the New Testament, means "five books" [from penta (five) and teuchos (tool, vessel, book)].
