There is no record of humans living before Adam and Eve. The Bible teaches that they were the first:
Genesis 3:20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
Some feel that on the basis of Genesis 1:28 that there must have been an earlier pre-Adamic creation:
Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
The pre-Adamic creation theory rests on the word translated in the KJV as replenish. It is argued that use of this term implies that there was something there before which had been removed. However, the theory is based on a mistranslation by the KJV scholars of the word male or mala [ pronounced mawlay or mawlaw ] which means simply to fill and not to re-fill. Every version, other than the KJV, translates this word as fill and not as re-fill or replenish. Even the New King James Version corrects this mistake on the part of the KJV translators.
Genesis 1:28 [NKJV] Then God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.
