Our viewpoint on New Age religions with their emphasis on emotion over reason and deification of nature is that they are false and purely the creation of mankind. It is ironic that these movements are classified as "New Age" since they have their roots in ancient forms of idolatry and superstition such as Gnosticism. In Matthew 15:9 The Lord Jesus Christ spoke of such invented approaches to God: in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
