Is infant baptism right or wrong?

How can a baby make an informed decision to follow Christ?

There is no record of infants being baptised in the New Testament.

Jesus instructed his apostles: Mark 16:15 Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved…

An infant cannot ‘believe the gospel’. Peter told the Jews:

Acts 2:38 Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins…

An infant cannot ‘repent’ and has no sins to be remitted.

After baptism, we must live a new life (by the commandments of Jesus Christ).

Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments…

An infant cannot ‘live a new life’ by keeping the commandments of Christ.

From this we see that the ‘baptism’ of infants serves no purpose.

The ‘baptism’ of infants is unnecessary because they are sanctified by the faith of their parents until they reach the age of responsibility.

1 Corinthians 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.

I hope you find this helpful.
God bless,
Glenn
