Do we even go to heaven?
A day is caused by the rotation of the earth upon its own axis in the path of the light from the sun.
In the visible heavens there are many ‘suns’ so the concept of a ‘day’ has no meaning.
God dwells in light
1 Timothy 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.
In the absence of darkness, we deduce that the ‘day’ where God dwells is eternal.
Men and women do not go to heaven.
John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven…
The promised kingdom of God is to be upon the earth.
Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
In the life to come, the days will be the same length as they are now.
Psalms 72:17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
Jeremiah 31:35 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: 36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
But light and darkness will no longer rule our lives.
Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
