What is Biblical archaeology?

Why not just "archaeology"?

Here is a definition of Archaeology:

Archaeology: the study of human history and prehistory through the excavation of sites and the analysis of artifacts and other physical remains.

Biblical archaeology, as the name implies, is the study of the historical background of the Bible through the excavation and analysis of artifacts and physical remains.

Here is a link on our site to a short talk by a renowned Biblical Archaeologist, Leen Ritmeyer, who is also a Christadelphian Bible student:

Why I Believe the Bible: Archaeology (click on the title to view and then click on the last video in the series)

I hope you have found this helpful.

God bless,
Mike
