What does Paul mean by the term "animal spirit" in 1 Corinthians 15:44?

Do animals have spirits? Do we have animal spirits? What is he talking about?

1 Corinthians 15:42-44 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body

Actually 1 Corinthians 15:44 talks of no such thing. Paul is describing the process of resurrection to eternal life. There is a "natural body" which dies and is buried - sown like a seed into the ground. There is a "spiritual body" given at the resurrection (not immediately at death). He goes on to cite the example of Christ and his experience before and after his resurrection.

The following will help you get a clearer understanding of the Bible's teaching on life and death and resurrection and judgment.
