What does the word "Nazareth" mean?

Does it have more significance than just a place name?

Thanks for asking a question on www.thisisyourbible.com

The Greek word in the New Testament, "Nazareth". It is of uncertain origin and just indicates the name of the place. It may be linked to the Hebrew word "netser" which occurs in Isaiah 11:1 and is translated "Branch". However, that is speculation.
