God would put a difference between those that committed abomination and those that were distressed by it.

Ezekiel 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

God speaks of their final future restoration and recompense.

Ezekiel speaks of individual responsibility and the consequences.

Ezekiel continues

Judah and Israel are likened to two sisters

Zechariah speaks of the time of restoration

Malachi 2:11 Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.

Jesus says that Daniel’s prophecy is future to his day.

Matthew 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

Mark 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

That he is referring to the siege of Jerusalem by the Romans which ended in AD 70 is made clear in the parallel account in Luke 21:20.

Luke 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

Jesus rebukes the Jews for their godless standards

Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

In Revelation Jesus prophesies of the rise of the apostate Christian Church which would become exceedingly rich by spiritual harlotry and be seen as the ‘Mother’ Church.

Revelation 17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Jesus prophesies that no one who does that which is an abomination in the sight of God will enter the kingdom of God.

Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
