What does conformable mean in Philippians 3:10?

What is Paul saying we should be conformed to?

Thanks for asking a question on www.thisisyourbible.com

Philippians 3:9-11 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

The word "conformable" here is the Greek word "summorphizo" and it means to be made like unto. Paul is saying that hewants tolive by the the power of the cross, conforming to Christ's suffering so that he might attain to Christ's resurrection. See Galatians 5:25 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its affections and lusts.

I hope you have found this helpful.

God bless,
