Aliens from the commonwealth of Israel...?

For we are all aliens of the commonwealth of Israel... where is this qoute?

Thanks for asking a question on www.thisisyourbible.com.

The passage for which you are looking does not say quite what you think it says. Here it is:

Ephesians 2:11-13 Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh––who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands––12 that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

Paul is telling the gentile members of the church at Ephesus that before they came to Christ, because they were not part of the "commonwealth of Israel," they were completely separated from God and without hope.

This stands in stark contrast to their glorious status as brothers and sisters in Christ. God has broken down the wall of separation between Jew and Gentile and both communities are now one in Christ Jesus.

He puts this eloquently in Galatians 3:27-39 "For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise."
